Inhabit offers a platform through which creative professionals can search for workspace and property owners can promote vacant spaces. Our overall aim is to ensure that there are more, and more sustainable, creative workspaces across the UK. Becoming a member of the Inhabit community will give you access to information about what a creative workspace is, why they are important and how to acquire, develop and sustain a workspaces; whether you are an owner or user of creative workspaces or somebody with a vested interest in the future development of creative workspace. Plus, you can use the community forum to engage with other Inhabit members and benefit from the collective knowledge of people who have first hand experience.
Creative professionals operating in the UK today make up more that 7% of the entire working population, with around 1.9 million individuals in employment. Despite this, many creative’s struggle to find affordable, appropriately resourced or sustainable workspace in which to think, explore, try out and produce their work.
Creative workspaces are a source of artistic wealth, community regeneration and international reputation. Inhabit has been formed through a pertnership between Arts Council England and DCA, to enhance knowledge and promote best practice about the use of creative workspace and to encourage the development of more, and more sustainable, creative workspace across the UK.
